The Governor of the Central Bank of Libya (CBL), Al-Siddiq Al-Kabeer, had a late-night phone call on Sunday with the Acting Head of UNSMIL, Stephanie Koury. The CBL stated on its website that the discussions focused on monitoring the bank's work amid the threats and pressures that face the bank and its staff, its systems, and its international relations. Koury expressed the UNSMIL's full support for the CBL and supporting it in performing its role in maintaining financial and economic stability and protecting the country's resources. She welcomed the support of the House of Representatives (HoR) and the High Council of State (HCS) for the CBL and their rejection of the unilateral procedures taken by the Presidential Council (PC) that are outside its jurisdiction.
