Qobayat:A Mass was held at Our Lady of Ghassaleh Church in Qobayat, Akkar, to honor the Lebanese Resistance martyrs. The event, organized by the Lebanese Forces' Akkar district, carried the theme "Dawn of Sovereignty."
According to National news agency - Lebanon, the Mass was attended by political and municipal figures, Lebanese Forces officials, and the families of the martyrs. Bishop Youssef Soueif emphasized the importance of remembering the martyrs' sacrifices and urged the creation of a peaceful Lebanon.
Rony Saad, the Lebanese Forces Akkar coordinator, reiterated the party's dedication to the martyrs' legacy and expressed support for the authority of the state. Antoine Zahra, a member of the Lebanese Forces Executive Council, urged the implementation of Lebanon's recent "bold" decisions and highlighted the need for development in Akkar.
Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea, addressing the gathering via video link, spoke of the martyrs' sacrifices for a "free, sovereign and independent" Lebanon. He advocated for peaceful efforts towards this goal and called for the general amnesty law's implementation, mentioning injustices faced by those who supported the Syrian revolution. Geagea also highlighted Akkar's deprivation and the need for national and developmental focus on the region.
