Al-masnaa: A convoy consisting of 18 trucks carrying relief and medical aid has reached the Al-Masna border crossing. This initiative is part of a humanitarian effort spearheaded by Jordanian King Abdullah II to provide urgent support to the Lebanese population in affected regions.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, the convoy was warmly received by significant figures including Jordanian Ambassador to Lebanon, Walid Abdul Rahman Al-Hadid, and Spanish Ambassador to Lebanon, Miguel de Lucas. Also present were Brigadier General Bassam Al-Naboulsi, Secretary-General of the Higher Relief Commission, alongside a delegation from the Commission, representatives from international organizations, and security agency leaders.
Ambassador Al-Hadid expressed honor in receiving this second international convoy organized by Jordan, in collaboration with countries like Spain and organizations such as Oxfam. He highlighted that this convoy marks the third installment in the international humanitarian bridge and the fourth since the onset of the conflict, comprising 18 trucks filled with relief supplies and medical equipment.
Ambassador de Lucas elaborated on Spain's contribution, noting that the initiative entails approximately 2,250 boxes of cooking utensils. These supplies are intended to assist around 11,250 displaced individuals, addressing their basic food preparation needs in challenging circumstances.
Brigadier General Bassam Al-Naboulsi expressed gratitude towards King Abdullah II and the Jordanian people, underscoring Lebanon's enduring friendship with nations that support it in times of crisis. He also extended appreciation to the Spanish ambassador for the humanitarian assistance extended to Lebanon.
Al-Naboulsi announced that the convoy will proceed to Rayak Air Base, where the aid will be organized before distribution by the Higher Relief Commission to displaced individuals across various regions in Lebanon.
