Doha: Caretaker Culture Minister, Judge Mohammad Wissam Al-Mortada, on Monday visited Qatar following an invitation from Qatari Culture Minister, Abdulrahman bin Hamad Al Thani. The meeting was attended by Lebanese Ambassador to Qatar, Farah Berri, media advisor, Rony Alfa, and Dr. Wassim Naji. Discussions focused on supporting Lebanon's resilience facing the Israeli occupation forces and efforts to aid Lebanon's recovery. According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Al Thani expressed Qatar's strong commitment to Lebanon, affirming that the Qatari Ministry of Culture would work to showcase Lebanese artists and creators in upcoming Qatari cultural events. This initiative aims to highlight Lebanese talent in challenging times. Al Thani also accepted Al-Mortada's invitation to attend the closing ceremony of Tripoli's tenure as the 2024 Arab Capital of Culture, which will occur after a ceasefire. Additionally, the ministers agreed to launch Qatari cultural weeks in Lebanon, beginning in Tripoli, underscoring Q atar's dedication to Lebanon's cultural diversity, sovereignty, and heritage. This collaboration highlights the shared cultural values between the two nations and aims to foster stronger bilateral relations through cultural exchange programs.
