Yarzeh: Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Menassa, on Friday welcomed in his office Deputy Bilal Al-Hashimi, Imad Al-Ashqar, Head of the Private Education Department at the Ministry of Education and Higher Education, and a delegation from the Syndicate of Private School Owners, led by Rabee Bazzi. This meeting included representatives from Lebanese governorates and districts.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the delegation presented an initiative where private schools affiliated with the syndicate agreed to cap tuition fees for children of Lebanese Armed Forces personnel and other security forces at the maximum amount set by the State Employees Cooperative. Transport fees and school supplies costs are excluded from this cap.
Major General Menassa expressed support for this initiative, stating that educational institutions play a crucial role in national stability. Preparations are being made for an upcoming meeting between the minister and the Union of Private Educational Institutions, including various major schools, to discuss extending this initiative nationwide to alleviate the economic burdens on military families.
