Beirut: Minister of National Defense, Major General Michel Menassa, on Wednesday received a phone call from Spain's Minister of Defense, Margarita Robles Fernandez, who extended condolences for the army martyrs who perished due to recent Israeli attacks.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Minister Fernandez reaffirmed Spain's unwavering support for Lebanon amidst the current exceptional circumstances, maintaining its consistent supportive stance. The Spanish minister condemned the attacks on Lebanon, underscoring Spain's commitment to Lebanon's sovereignty, stability, and territorial integrity, and vowed continued cooperation between the two nations, particularly in defense and security.
Minister Menassa expressed gratitude to his Spanish counterpart for her support and that of her government, commending Spain's significant role within UNIFIL. He highlighted "the importance of this support in strengthening Lebanon's resilience and finding solutions to the challenges and risks it faces."
