Dubai Chamber of Commerce Establishes Korean Business Council to Boost Economic Ties

DUBAI: The Dubai Chamber of Commerce announced the creation of the Korean Business Council, a strategic initiative aimed at bolstering economic relations and fostering opportunities between private sector companies in Dubai and the Republic of Korea. The council's formation marks a significant step in strengthening ties and exploring mutually beneficial prospects between the two regions. According to Emirates News Agency, the council held its inaugural annual general meeting recently at Dubai Chambers, where participants outlined key priorities and discussed future plans, including an upcoming schedule of events. The Business Council seeks to enhance economic cooperation with a focus on the most promising sectors for businesses in both markets. Maha Al Gargawi, Vice President of Business Advocacy at Dubai Chambers, emphasized the importance of Business Councils in creating opportunities and partnerships that benefit both parties. "We remain committed to ensuring they contribute to the growth of the private sector and increase its contribution to sustainable economic development in Dubai," she stated. The country-specific Business Councils under Dubai Chamber of Commerce aim to represent the interests of companies and investors from strategically important markets to Dubai. They are instrumental in opening new avenues of economic collaboration and supporting the interests of foreign investors in the emirate. This initiative aligns with the chamber's broader efforts to advance the objectives of the Dubai Economic Agenda (D33), which includes increasing the number of country-specific Business Councils to promote foreign trade and aid in the global expansion of local companies.
