**EAD Delegation Engages in Knowledge Exchange Tour in Netherlands to Enhance Environmental Strategies**

Amsterdam: A high-level delegation from the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi (EAD) concluded a week-long knowledge exchange tour in the Netherlands, aimed at exploring collaborations and discussing innovations in climate monitoring, artificial intelligence, and waste management. The delegation engaged with industry stakeholders in Amsterdam and The Hague, attended sustainability events, and participated in the World Summit AI, a prominent event on the equitable and safe use of artificial intelligence. According to Emirates News Agency, the EAD delegation's tour, which took place from October 7 to October 14, involved meetings with government officials, C-Suite executives, and sustainability officers. Discussions covered decarbonization, energy transition, and low-carbon solutions such as green hydrogen, as well as the challenges of policy development for sectors that are difficult to decarbonize. At the World Summit AI, the delegation explored the impact of artificial intelligence on society, examining its ro le in disrupting sectors and its ethical implications. The summit also focused on the human-centric aspects of AI's impact on government and sustainability. The EAD delegation met with representatives of TNO, an independent research organization in the Netherlands. TNO's expertise in transforming scientific knowledge into practical applications was of particular interest, especially its water purification technologies, which address contaminants like microplastics. These insights are poised to enhance EAD's initiatives under the Abu Dhabi Climate Change Strategy (2023-2027). Further discussions took place with Rijkswaterstaat, the Dutch Ministry of Infrastructure and Water Management, focusing on best practices in monitoring and managing air and water quality. The dialogue included techniques for building resilience in coastal areas, relevant to both Abu Dhabi and Amsterdam. Interactions with Deltares, a Dutch research institute specializing in water and subsurface systems, provided insights into innovativ e water management solutions. The EAD delegation attended presentations on advanced models for water treatment and wastewater management. Shaikha Salem Al Dhaheri, Secretary-General of EAD, emphasized the importance of the visit in enhancing Abu Dhabi's environmental management and sustainability. She noted the value of engaging with Dutch experts and adapting their advanced technologies to the Abu Dhabi context. The visit marks the first in a series of international roadshows by the Environment Agency - Abu Dhabi to remain updated on emerging technology solutions and ensure readiness for future environmental challenges.
