Doha: As part of her official visit to the State of Qatar, Minister of Education and Higher Education, Dr. Rima Karami, participated Saturday in the 39th International Conference on School Effectiveness and Improvement (ICSEI 2026), co-organized by the Ministry of Education and Higher Education at Qatar University.

According to National News Agency – Lebanon, the conference, themed “Cross Boundaries in Education: Promoting Innovative, Inclusive, and Sustainable Learning Environments,” saw participation from over 500 educational leaders, policymakers, researchers, and practitioners globally. It is recognized as a significant international forum focusing on the development of education and enhancing the performance of schools and educational systems, providing a platform for exchanging experiences, discussing current educational issues, and reviewing successful educational effectiveness practices.

During his address at the conference, Qatari Education and Higher Education Ministry’s Undersecretary, Dr. Ibrahim bin Saleh Al-Nuaimi, emphasized that Qatar’s educational progress is not gauged by replicating global models. Instead, it relies on the education system’s capacity to adapt international best practices to fit its local context, cultural values, and national priorities, which is the approach Qatar employs in developing its education sector.

The conference is part of Qatar’s Education and Higher Education Ministry’s ongoing efforts to advance education and reinforce the role of scientific research and innovation in building human capital. This initiative aligns with the objectives of the “Qatar National Vision 2030,” which aims to establish a knowledge-based economy.
