Adelaide: Emirates has relaunched its daily service between Adelaide and Dubai, operating a Boeing 777-200LR aircraft. The service offers over 4,200 weekly seats between the two cities, marking a significant commitment to South Australia and catering to the growing travel demand in the region. According to Emirates News Agency, the Boeing 777-200LR is configured with 302 seats across two cabins, featuring 38 Business Class seats and 264 Economy Class seats. This service is projected to facilitate the annual travel of over 220,400 passengers between Dubai and Adelaide. The return of Emirates to Adelaide is expected to have a considerable impact on the local economy and tourism industry, with the South Australian Tourism Commission estimating that the daily non-stop flights will generate more than $62 million annually in tourism expenditure and create over 315 full-time equivalent jobs in tourism. In addition to passenger services, Emirates SkyCargo will enhance trade connections between South Australia and i nternational markets, including the Middle East, Europe, and the USA. Each flight provides 14 tonnes of cargo space, amounting to 196 tonnes weekly, supporting exports such as seafood, meat products, fruits, vegetables, pharmaceuticals, machinery parts, retail garments, and electronics. The estimated annual value of freight exports is $98 million, bringing the total economic impact of Emirates' return to Adelaide to $160 million. South Australia Premier Peter Malinauskas welcomed Emirates' return, emphasizing the broader economic benefits, creation of jobs, and new trade opportunities. He noted that the service would generate significant economic impact and is a positive signal for South Australia's future. Tourism Minister Zoe Bettison echoed the sentiment, highlighting the increased appeal of South Australia to international markets due to Emirates' extensive network connecting to over 140 destinations worldwide. She expressed enthusiasm for South Australia's inclusion in Emirates' global marketing effort s, which will enhance the state's visitor economy, currently valued at $1.3 billion. Emirates' Executive Vice President, Nabil Sultan, reaffirmed the airline's dedication to the Australian market, emphasizing the importance of Adelaide in expanding their Australia network, now offering 70 weekly services across five cities. Adelaide Airport Managing Director Brenton Cox underscored the benefits of Emirates' global network for passengers and its critical role in supporting the tourism economy, trade, and export opportunities for local producers. Emirates plans to further expand its operations in Australia by reinstating a second daily service to Perth on 1st December, increasing its capacity to 77 weekly flights, capable of transporting 68,000 passengers per week.
