EU Pledges Support to Lebanon’s New Government

Brussels: The European Union High Representative for Foreign Affairs and Security Policy, Kaya Kallas, has expressed support for Lebanon's newly formed government. In a recent statement, she conveyed her congratulations to Lebanon, expressing hope for the success of Prime Minister Nawaf Salam and his administration in realizing the ambitions of the Lebanese populace. Kallas specifically acknowledged Youssef Rajji's appointment as the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Emigrants and anticipated a fruitful collaboration with him.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the European Union has reaffirmed its unwavering commitment to the Lebanese people, emphasizing the importance of rebuilding state institutions to effectively serve all citizens. The EU is prepared to back the new government in pursuing a reform-focused and progressive agenda, as well as in revitalizing the EU-Lebanon partnership. This support extends to the organization of the Association Council meeting scheduled for later this year.
