Tyre:Ambassadors from Spain, Norway, and Sweden, along with a representative from Belgium and international organizations, visited the Union of Tyre District Municipalities to evaluate support for displaced families.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Union President Hassan Dabouk and Disaster Management Unit Director Mortada Mhanna briefed the delegation on the unit's emergency operations, including shelter management, needs assessments, aid distribution, and the challenges faced by municipalities.
The delegation engaged in discussions about strengthening international coordination and enhancing humanitarian support.
During their visit, they toured the Disaster Management Unit's operations room and a displacement shelter, where they met with residents to assess living conditions and the services provided. The visit aimed to gauge the needs on the ground and bolster municipal efforts in response to displacement in the Tyre region.
