Events in Sweida Signal Critical Shift Amid Escalating Tensions: Al-Sharaa’s Address Highlights External Influences

Al-sharaa: Syrian President Ahmad al-Sharaa has declared that the recent developments in Sweida signify a "serious turning point in the security and political situation in Syria."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, al-Sharaa, in a televised address following the announcement of a ceasefire, highlighted that the violent clashes in Sweida province could have escalated further if not for the intervention of the Syrian state. He reassured that the state is committed to protecting all minorities and sects, promising accountability for violators.

In his closing remarks, al-Sharaa called for prioritizing reason and wisdom, urging a path guided by rationality and prudence.
