Jerusalem: Under the protection of the Israeli occupation police, extremist Jewish settlers stormed the courtyards of Al-Aqsa Mosque-Al-Haram Al-Sharif in occupied Jerusalem on Wednesday. This incursion has sparked significant tension in the region, highlighting the ongoing conflict over this highly sensitive and contested religious site. According to Jordan News Agency, the Jordan-run Islamic Endowments Department reported that dozens of hardline settlers entered Al-Aqsa Mosque from the Al Maghariba Gate. The settlers performed provocative Talmudic rituals in the mosque's courtyards, an action likely to escalate the already fraught situation in Jerusalem. Since October 2023, marking the beginning of a comprehensive Israeli aggression against Palestinians in the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, including Jerusalem, Israeli forces have tightened their security measures. These measures include increased restrictions at the gates of Al-Aqsa Mosque and at the entrances to the Old City of occupied Jerusalem, furthe r aggravating tensions.
