Fahmy and Al Jarwan Commit to Enhancing Cooperation for Global Tolerance and Peace

Cairo: Arab League Secretary-General, Dr. Nabil Fahmy, met on Sunday with Global Council for Tolerance and Peace President Ahmed bin Mohamed Al Jarwan at the Arab League headquarters to discuss enhancing joint efforts to promote tolerance, peace, dialogue, and coexistence.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the discussions between Fahmy and Al Jarwan focused on reviewing issues of mutual interest and the importance of fostering a culture of moderation and understanding among different peoples. They emphasized the need to support regional and international efforts aimed at tackling security and stability challenges.

During the meeting, Al Jarwan highlighted the council's key programs and initiatives, notably the International Parliament for Tolerance and Peace. He also discussed efforts to build partnerships with parliaments and international and regional organizations to promote peace, dialogue, and coexistence.

Fahmy commended the council's role in supporting initiatives that promote tolerance and peace. He stressed the necessity for greater regional and international collaboration to counter hate speech and extremism and to foster mutual respect among communities.

Both parties reaffirmed their commitment to continued coordination and cooperation in pursuit of shared goals and efforts to reinforce stability in the region and beyond.
