Ramallah: The Palestinian Federation of Industries held a crucial meeting with representatives from the Ministry of Industry, the International Quartet, and the consulting firm Momentum Lab to address the severe challenges confronting the industrial sector in the West Bank. The discussions centered on immediate interventions necessary to prevent the sector from collapsing under the unprecedented conditions currently affecting Palestine. According to Maan News Agency, the meeting included a review of a study conducted on hundreds of industrial facilities across the West Bank governorates. The study revealed that the ongoing conflict in the Gaza Strip, along with occupation measures and the siege on the West Bank, have gravely impacted the industry. These issues have led to significant declines in production, local market sales, and exports, alongside difficulties in meeting financial obligations. Many industrial companies are struggling to retain employees, with the looming threat of further layoffs should th e situation persist. Participants in the meeting emphasized the importance of utilizing the study's findings to develop emergency rescue programs and projects. These initiatives aim to support companies at risk of collapse, help them maintain their workforce, and sustain production levels amidst the challenging conditions facing the Palestinian territories.
