Baabda: National News Agency correspondent reported that the final outcome for the long day of the binding parliamentary consultations held at Baabda palace yielded 85 votes for Judge Nawaf Salam, 9 for Caretaker Premier Najib Mikati, and 34 MPs refrained from naming anyone.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the consultations were a significant procedure in determining the potential leadership for the country's government. Judge Nawaf Salam emerged as the leading candidate with a substantial majority of 85 votes, signaling strong support among the MPs. Caretaker Premier Najib Mikati received a notably smaller portion of the votes, with only 9 MPs backing his continuation in the role.
