Beirut: Finance Minister Yassine Jaber received Public Health Minister Rakan Nassereddine at his ministry office to discuss financial matters concerning the health sector, with a focus on funding for hospitalization and public hospitals. The talks aimed to ensure the continuity and operational capacity of healthcare services.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the meeting also covered outstanding payments owed to hospitals contracted by the state and the provision of medicines by the Health Ministry for patients with chronic and incurable diseases. This discussion is part of a broader effort to address the financial challenges facing the health sector.
Jaber emphasized that the health sector remains a key priority, highlighting the necessity of ensuring citizens' access to healthcare and the operational integrity of both public hospitals and those contracted by the state. He reiterated the importance of securing essential medicines for patients suffering from chronic and incurable illnesses.
The Finance Ministry, Jaber affirmed, will continue to work within the constraints of available resources to address the health sector's financial needs, aiming to safeguard health security and ensure the continuity of healthcare services for citizens.
