Finance Minister Engages in Talks with Saudi Ambassador on Reforms and Bilateral Relations

Beirut: Finance Minister, Yassin Jaber, on Tuesday received Saudi Ambassador to Lebanon, Walid Bukhari, in his office at the Ministry. Discussions between the pair reportedly touched on the general situation and the reform measures undertaken by the Ministry of Finance.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the talks focused on 'the new dynamics adopted at the ministry, which include accelerated measures for financial and monetary stability and stimulate growth.' The discussions also addressed the Lebanese-Saudi bilateral relations and the positive atmosphere fostered by the Kingdom's recent stances toward Lebanon, which are expected to strengthen the excellent and distinguished relations between the two countries and brotherly peoples.

'It is hoped that this will also provide an impetus to stimulate and encourage investment factors so that the country's economic cycle can return to a state of recovery,' the statement added. Minister Jaber expressed satisfaction with the atmosphere that prevailed during the meeting and conveyed optimism that "the rapid reform steps being undertaken by Lebanon, both at the governmental and legislative levels, will usher in a recovery phase for Lebanon."
