SEOUL: The number of foreigners visiting the Republic of Korea recovered to nearly 96 percent of pre-pandemic levels last month, Yonhap News Agency said Monday. Korea welcomed about 1.42 million international tourists in June, marking a 47.5 percent increase from a year ago, according to the Korea Tourism Organisation. The figure is 96 percent of the 1.48 million foreigners who visited Korea in June 2019 before the COVID-19 pandemic. A total of 134 countries saw an increase in the number of visitors to Korea in the first half, compared to the same period in 2019. Source: Emirates News Agency
