FPM: Targeting Journalists a ‘War Crime’, Government Required to Take International Action

Beirut: The Central Media and Communications Committee of the Free Patriotic Movement has released a statement highlighting the repeated targeting of Lebanese journalists amid the ongoing Israeli conflict. The statement condemns the attacks that led to the deaths of journalists Fatima Ftouni, her brother cameraman Mohammad, and Ali Shuaib, labeling these acts as clear war crimes. The committee insists that the Lebanese government must no longer remain passive in the face of such incidents.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the statement calls for the Lebanese government to engage with international bodies to bring attention to and denounce these violations. The committee also appeals to international media organizations dedicated to the protection and freedom of journalists, urging them to act and raise awareness about the continuous targeting of Lebanese media professionals.
