Beirut: President of the Republic, Joseph Aoun, on Monday received Levon Amirjanyan, Representative of the Organisation internationale de la Francophonie for the Middle East, in the presence of Information Minister Paul Morcos.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, following the meeting, Amirjanyan reaffirmed the solidarity of the Francophonie organization and the wider Francophone community with Lebanon during the current difficult period. He said discussions focused on ways to strengthen cooperation between Lebanon and the organization, particularly in promoting the French language and Francophone values, as well as combating media disinformation.
Amirjanyan also presented President Aoun with a report prepared by the organization on media regulation and mechanisms to counter disinformation, drafted at the request of the Ministry of Information.
