STRASBOURG: The Institute of Political Studies at the University of Strasbourg, located in eastern France, has decided to suspend its partnership with Israel's Reichman University. This decision comes in response to what are described as the university's "pro-Gaza war" positions. According to Jordan News Agency, Jean-Philippe Heurtin, the director of the institute, approved this suspension proposal following a vote with 12 members in favor, seven against, and two abstentions. Members expressed their concerns about "the positions of the university concerned, which are pro-war and devoid of any humanitarian, peaceful, and critical perspective towards the ongoing war in Gaza." Heurtin stated that the active involvement of Reichman University in the conflict, which has resulted in the loss of tens of thousands of civilian lives, including women and children, contradicts the humanitarian values upheld by the Institute of Political Science in Strasbourg. He further clarified that the partnership between Tel Aviv' s Reichman University and the Institute of Political Studies in Strasbourg "is not currently in place," and no students will be sent to Israel or Lebanon before the conflict concludes.
