Geagea Clarifies Purpose of Maarab’s ‘National Gathering’: Initiative Aims to Spare Lebanon from Crisis

Maarab: During the "National Gathering" held this morning in Maarab, Lebanese Forces leader Samir Geagea emphasized that the initiative is not out of hostility towards Hezbollah, but rather to spare Lebanon the worst. He stated, "We have repeatedly asked the party to spare Lebanon, but they didn't listen...Perhaps they will listen today."

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Geagea highlighted the ongoing efforts over the past 40 years to avert the current situation in Lebanon. He noted, "We demonstrated, we demanded, we were imprisoned, and we lost many martyrs, from Rafik Hariri to Lokman Slim, but they insisted on bringing the country to where it is now."

Geagea further mentioned that significant decisions were made by the Lebanese government from August 5 and 7, 2025, until March 2, 2026. He stressed the importance of implementing these decisions, particularly the one taken by the Foreign Affairs Ministry in coordination with the President of the Republic and the Prime Minister concerning the Iranian ambassador in Lebanon.
