Geagea Urges Immediate Surrender of Weapons to Lebanese State

Beirut: Lebanese Forces party leader Samir Geagea issued a sharp statement addressing the responses to repeated Israeli attacks on Lebanon, calling out what he described as the performative outrage by some political factions.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Geagea criticized the repeated dramatic reactions from certain political groups, labeling them as theatrical and ineffective. "Each time Lebanese citizens are subjected to bloodshed and destruction, we witness the same theatrical reactions, loud condemnations, and emotional rhetoric from the so-called 'resistance' camp," Geagea stated. He likened these responses to a public poetry contest, emphasizing that they occur while lives are lost and livelihoods are destroyed.

Geagea emphasized the need for practical solutions to prevent further escalation and protect Lebanon. He advocated for the establishment of a strong, sovereign state, one that has full control and monopoly over weapons and decisions of war and peace. This, he argued, is the only viable path for the nation's protection.

Concluding his statement, Geagea delivered a pointed message, urging those holding arms outside the state's control to surrender them immediately. He stressed that this action is essential for the state to fulfill its role effectively and prevent further aggression.
