Beirut: The Kataeb Party held a tribute gathering this evening marking the sixth anniversary of the Beirut Port explosion, renewing calls for truth, justice, and an end to impunity. Kataeb leader MP Sami Gemayel said that "justice is taking its course" and expressed confidence in the process overseen by Justice Minister Adel Nassar and the "honest judges." He stressed that the Kataeb will continue working to ensure that those who lost their lives defending Lebanon become a sacrifice for future generations to live in a secure and stable country.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Gemayel emphasized the importance of Lebanon returning to being a strong and respected state, free from terrorism, thuggery, agents, and destructive ideologies. He paid tribute to the victims' families and to late Kataeb Secretary-General Nazar Najarian, whose memorial was adorned with wreaths by the party leader and his family.
Wreaths were also laid on behalf of the Kataeb Party in memory of party members Joe Akiki, Joe Andoun, Antoine Barmaki, and Nazar Najarian, highlighting the ongoing commitment to honoring those who lost their lives in the tragic incident.
