Gemayel Marks 18 Years Since Assassination of Kataeb MP Ghanem

Beirut: Kataeb Party leader Samy Gemayel paid tribute on Friday to slain lawmaker Antoine Ghanem, marking 18 years since his assassination, and vowed to continue the struggle for a 'free and strong' Lebanese state.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Gemayel expressed his sentiments in a message shared on X, reflecting on the progress Lebanon has made since Ghanem's death. 'Eighteen years have passed since you left. Today, Lebanon is moving steadily toward becoming a free and strong state. Your sacrifice has borne fruit, and your martyrdom carried the truth of the nation,' Gemayel wrote.

Gemayel also pledged to remain committed to Ghanem's vision for Lebanon. 'We promise you to remain faithful and to carry on the journey,' he added, addressing his late party comrade.
