Gemayel Meets French Ambassador, Discusses Support for Lebanese Army


Beirut: Former President Amin Gemayel on Wednesday received French Ambassador to Lebanon Herv© Magro, with discussions focusing on domestic and regional developments, according to a statement issued by Gemayel’s media office.



According to National News Agency – Lebanon, talks also addressed France’s role within the international mechanism committee, which was described as a key safeguard for the current situation.



During the meeting, Ambassador Magro briefed President Gemayel on preparations underway in Paris to mobilize international support for the Lebanese Army through an upcoming conference to be held in the French capital.



President Gemayel stressed the importance of the conference in enabling the Lebanese Army to fully carry out its role in implementing the government’s decision to ensure the exclusivity of arms across the entire country.
