Beirut: Grand Mufti of the Republic, Sheikh Abdel Latif Derian, received Sheikh Sami Abi Al-Muna, the Sheikh Aql of the Druze community, at Dar al-Fatwa, leading a delegation from the sect.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Sheikh Abi Al-Muna highlighted the strong relationship between the two religious leaderships following the meeting. "We were pleased to visit His Eminence today to reaffirm the depth of our bond. We wished him health and well-being and expressed our commitment to standing together in navigating this new phase of national life. Lebanon needs all of us to unite around this national framework, to contribute to state-building, restore institutions, and rebuild trust-both among Lebanese citizens and in Lebanon's standing abroad," Abi Al-Muna stated.
The Druze Sheikh also emphasized the necessity for ongoing cooperation with Lebanon's national leaders, including the President, the Prime Minister, ministers, and various political figures. "I spoke with His Eminence about the importance of a spiritual and national partnership-an inclusive umbrella that protects everyone. We are all partners in this country; no group should feel excluded or defeated, and no group should claim absolute victory," he added.
