Joun: Interior and Municipalities Minister Ahmad Al-Hajjar visited the “Monastery of the Savior” in the town of Joun, located in the Chouf District. The monastery serves as the headquarters for the General Presidency of the Basilian Salvatorian Order. During the visit, Minister Al-Hajjar was welcomed by the Superior General of the Order, Archimandrite Antoine Rizk, the Abbot of the Monastery, Father Elias Saliba, and several other religious clerics.
According to National News Agency – Lebanon, Minister Al-Hajjar and his delegation toured the monastery, exploring its religious and cultural landmarks. They received a detailed explanation of the monastery’s history and its role in educational and social fields. During a luncheon held in his honor following the tour, Minister Al-Hajjar emphasized the importance of unity and solidarity among different societal components to maintain national stability. He also underscored the necessity of reinforcing concepts of coexistence to strengthen resilience against current challenges.
