Hamas Denounces Israeli Army Videos as Attempt to Salvage Image

Gaza: Hamas has strongly criticized recent video clips released by the Israeli army regarding Yahya Sinwar, the late leader of the movement, describing the footage as a futile effort to restore their reputation. According to Maan News Agency, Hamas issued a statement on its Telegram channel condemning the Israeli army's portrayal of events surrounding Sinwar's death. The statement accused the Israeli military of attempting to create a narrative of control over military and intelligence operations following Sinwar's death during a confrontation with Israeli forces in Rafah. Hamas labeled these efforts as a "miserable and ridiculous attempt" to address what it described as the apparent shortcomings of Israel's security and military systems. The movement further criticized the Israeli army's spokesperson, asserting that the statements were filled with "blatant lies" and constituted a "failed play" aimed at salvaging the image of a defeated army. Hamas highlighted Sinwar's role in leading what it called the "gr eatest battle" in Palestinian history, the Flood of Al-Aqsa, emphasizing his leadership on the battlefronts across Gaza. Hamas praised Sinwar as a global symbol of resistance, noting his life was dedicated to jihad and struggle. They asserted that his martyrdom was a fulfillment of his lifelong aspirations, portraying him as advancing the cause of Palestinian freedom and the purification of the land from what they referred to as the "filth of the fascist Zionists."
