Gaza: Hamas announced on Sunday that it has expanded the search for the bodies of Israeli hostages in the Gaza Strip, a day after a specialized Egyptian team equipped with heavy equipment entered the Strip to assist in extracting bodies from under the rubble, according to Sky News Arabia.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, under the US-brokered ceasefire agreement that went into effect on October 10, Hamas is expected to return all the remains of the hostages as soon as possible.
Khalil al-Hayya, head of Hamas's political bureau in Gaza, said the movement had begun new searches in additional areas for the bodies of 13 hostages still missing, according to a statement released Sunday.
US President Donald Trump warned on Saturday that he was "closely monitoring" Hamas's compliance with the agreement, indicating that he expected the return of more bodies within 48 hours.
