HARIRI VISITS PRESIDENT, PRESENTS A GOVERNMENT LINE-UP OF 24 MINISTERS, HOPING FOR AN ANSWER TOMORROW

President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, met Prime Minister-designate, Saad Hariri, this afternoon at Baabda Palace, and received a new governmental lineup from him.

 

 

 

The Presidency Press Office clarified that “The presented lineup includes new names and distribution of portfolios, and it will be subject to study and consultation to proceed in what is convenient”.

 

 

 

Prime Minister- designated Hariri’s statement:

 

 

 

After the meeting with President Aoun ended, Prime Minister Hariri spoke to journalists:

 

 

 

“I presented to His Excellency the President of the Republic a government of 24 ministers of specialists, according to the French initiative and the initiative of Speaker Berri.

 

As for me, this government can work forward to the country and start working seriously to stop the collapse.

 

 

 

We have entered the ninth month of trying to form a government, and now is the time for the truth.

 

We will know tomorrow, God willing.”

“His Excellency, President of the Republic, General Michel Aoun, received this afternoon from Prime Minister-designate Saad Hariri, a government lineup that includes new names and a new distribution of portfolios and sects, different from what was previously agreed upon.

 

 

 

Prime Minister Hariri asked the President for an answer on the lineup before noon tomorrow, Thursday.

 

 

 

 

 

His Excellency informed the PM-designate, that the proposed lineup, with the names mentioned in it and the new distribution of the portfolios, will be the subject of research, study and consultation, so that it can be built on what is required”. — Press Office
