Baalbek: Hezbollah Secretary-General Sheikh Naim Qassem stated on Sunday that "Lebanon today is at the heart of the storm because of the United States and Israel." He made these remarks during a Hezbollah ceremony in Baalbek, commemorating jihadist leader and former MP Mohammad Hassan Yaghi.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Qassem emphasized that "Hezbollah and the Islamic Resistance liberated Lebanon, not just the south, through cooperation with various factions, with the support of the Lebanese Army and the people." He reiterated that Hezbollah has distanced itself from corruption and remains focused on serving the people.
Qassem described the current situation as a "historic crossroads" for Lebanon, posing a choice between granting the United States and Israel full control over the country or rising nationally to reclaim sovereignty. He warned that disarming the resistance is part of an Israeli-American project, labeled as "exclusivity of weapons," intended to create discord between the resistance and the Lebanese people.
Furthermore, Qassem accused the Lebanese government of making unnecessary concessions to the enemy, while Israel has not upheld its part of the agreement. He asserted that the resistance and Lebanon have adhered to the agreement's provisions, yet Israel continues its security incursions into Lebanon.
