Beirut: Sheikh Naim Qassem, Secretary General of Hezbollah, firmly stated that Hezbollah will never disarm, framing any such efforts as aligned with Israeli strategic objectives and a direct threat to Lebanon's existence. His declaration was made during Hezbollah's Fatimi gathering, organized by the Women's Work Unit in honor of Lady Fatimah's birth anniversary.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Sheikh Qassem emphasized that land, arms, and national spirit are inseparable and warned that any attempt to compromise this would attack Lebanon's essence. He asserted that Hezbollah's stance is a national duty and highlighted the resistance's achievements in liberating occupied lands and deterring invasions.
Sheikh Qassem warned of existential threats if Lebanon submits, stating that surrender would erase Lebanon's history and future, leaving no place for its people under Israeli control. He criticized the weakening of the resistance and minimal arming of the Lebanese army as dangerous and urged the Lebanese state to reconsider its approach to defense strategy.
He condemned the notion of exclusive state control over weapons as an American-Israeli agenda aimed at weakening Lebanon. Sheikh Qassem also pointed out the challenges of sanctions and corruption, exacerbated by US policies since 2019, which destabilize Lebanon and hinder its autonomy.
Sheikh Qassem recounted how the resistance thwarted Israeli attempts to eradicate Hezbollah and criticized the influence of the US on Israeli military actions. He stated that Lebanon has entered a new stage post-ceasefire, requiring state responsibility for sovereignty and protection, while the resistance supports these efforts.
Furthermore, Sheikh Qassem emphasized the shared responsibility of the state, army, and resistance in preventing aggression. He stressed that the resistance's role is to support the state's efforts in liberation and defense, while maintaining the resistance's strength to aid the army and political authorities in securing Lebanon.
Finally, Sheikh Qassem highlighted the vital role of women in Hezbollah, praising their contributions to the resistance and society. He urged continued active participation of women in shaping Lebanon's future within the framework of Hezbollah, underscoring their role as pillars of honor and national integrity.
