Hurricane Helene is expected to continue intensifying and getting larger before approaching the Gulf Coast of Florida, the United States of America (USA). Hurricane Helene powered north into the Gulf of Mexico on Wednesday, strengthening slightly on a path that forecasters expect will bring heavy extreme rain, widespread damaging winds a good distance from the storm's center, and high storm surge to much of Florida's western shores. Though the forecast is still taking shape, the storm could intensify to a Category 4 if not higher before making landfall late today, and forecasters warned Helene's anticipated large size could make its impacts felt across an extensive area. Areas as far away as Atlanta and the Appalachians are at risk for heavy rains. Source: Oman News Agency
