IFRC General Assembly Commences in Geneva with Global Participation

GENEVA: The General Assembly of the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC) began in Geneva with participation from representatives of the Kuwait Red Crescent Society and delegates from 191 countries. The assembly aims to address pressing humanitarian challenges and set priorities for the coming two years. According to Kuwait News Agency, IFRC President Kate Forbes, in her opening remarks, emphasized the need for dialogue and peace, particularly in the current global climate. She highlighted the necessity of creating a supportive environment for humanitarian aid, ensuring it reaches all those in need without exception. Forbes stressed the importance of prioritizing dialogue and peace, especially for individuals enduring the effects of wars, conflicts, and crises.
