Information Minister Represents President Aoun at Farewell to Brother Nour, Conveys Condolences

Ajaltoun: Lebanon and the media community bid farewell today to Brother Nour (Jihad George Bseils), Founder of "Tele Lumi¨re" and "Noursat," at a solemn funeral service held at "Our Lady of Tenderness" Church in Ajaltoun. Representing the President of the Republic was Information Minister, Attorney Dr. Paul Morcos, in the presence of Patriarch Joseph III Younan of the Greek Catholic Church, representatives of Maronite, Orthodox, and Armenian Catholic and Orthodox Churches, the Secretary-General of the Middle East Council of Churches Professor Michel Abs, political officials including MPs Neemat Frem and Melhem Khalaf, members of Tele Lumi¨re and Noursat, clergy, religious, and prominent figures from Lebanon's social, educational, and media sectors.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the funeral Mass was led by Abbot Marwan Sidi, assisted by numerous priests. In the patriarchal eulogy, Sidi described Brother Nour as an exceptional spiritual figure whose life left an indelible mark on the Church in the Middle East and worldwide. He highlighted Nour's ascetic life, dedication to God, simplicity of heart, and his role in founding Tele Lumi¨re as a prophetic vision and a bridge for devotion and truth, uniting the Christian family. The late Brother Nour was praised for combining spiritual leadership with professional excellence, setting an example for generations.

Speaking on behalf of President Joseph Aoun, Information Minister Morcos offered condolences to Brother Nour's family, the Tele Lumi¨re and Noursat teams, and all who knew and loved him, honoring his life of selfless service and dedication. In a word of tribute, Morcos praised Nour's humility, patience, faith, and unique character, calling him a lasting example for media and spiritual work.

He said, "Brother Nour taught us humility, patience, and faith, qualities he possessed and was distinguished by...His unique personality is difficult to replicate in history in general and in the media in particular. He is a role model for others to give more and contribute to the path of faith, and he brings light to every home in Lebanon and the world."

"Brother Nour has departed in body, but his message remains, carried by those he left behind in this service," Morcos concluded.
