Iraq and Syria affirm the pursuit and aspiration for industrial cooperation that serves the two countries

Baghdad The Minister of Industry and Minerals, Manhal Aziz Al-Khabbaz, discussed with the Syrian Minister of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates, Faisal Miqdad, the bilateral relations and the cooperation between the two countries.

During the meeting, the Minister stressed the depth of historical relations, social rapprochement and the bonds of love that unite the two countries and their brotherly peoples.

The Minister renewed the reference and affirmation that “the Iraqi government seeks to have an economic, industrial and commercial balance based on respect and mutual benefit for the stability of the region, pointing at the same time to the recommendations and keenness of the Prime Minister to achieve this balance in a real way and Iraq will be an active and a major player and still is the focus of the world’s attention.

He also affirmed “the pursuit and aspiration for industrial cooperation and a better future with Syria in light of the great rapprochement between the Iraqi and Syrian peoples, hoping that the visit and the ongoing discussions will result in expanding the frameworks of cooperation and industrial partnership and the volume of trade exchange between the two sides.

For his part, the Syrian Foreign Minister welcomed the visit of the Minister and the accompanying delegation, pointing out that Iraq and Syria have one destiny, in the past, present and future, and that both countries are keen on the independence of the other country, stressing the need to intensify meetings between both parties and establish close relations that serve the common interests of the two countries.
