Beirut: The Islamic University in Lebanon has announced the suspension of classes across all its branches tomorrow. This decision comes as the university supports students, employees, and administration members in returning to the southern villages recently liberated from occupation. Regular academic activities are scheduled to resume on Tuesday, January 28, 2025.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the university issued a statement extending congratulations to all Lebanese, particularly the southerners, on the successful liberation of their villages from the occupying forces. The statement emphasized the importance of allowing the university community to participate in the significant return journey to these territories.
The university's statement also drew upon the words of its founding Imam, Sayyed Musa al-Sadr, who highlighted the resilience of the southern inhabitants, stating that their steadfast presence in their homeland is crucial to thwarting external ambitions. The statement underscored the historical and honorable connection the people of the south have with their land.
In closing, the statement offered congratulations on the liberation, expressed condolences to the families of martyrs, wished healing for the wounded, and extended patience to the bereaved families.
