Israel Has Killed 12,329 Palestinian Students Since Oct 7, 2023, Says Ministry

Gaza City: The Ministry of Education and Higher Education reported that 12,329 students have been killed and 20,160 injured since the onset of Israeli aggression on the Gaza Strip and the West Bank on October 7, 2023.

According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Ministry of Education detailed in a statement that the number of students killed in the Gaza Strip exceeded 13,054, with those injured reaching 21,320. In the West Bank, 123 students were killed, 671 others injured, and 560 arrested.

The Ministry also noted that 657 teachers and administrators were killed, 3,904 injured in both the Gaza Strip and the West Bank, and more than 165 detained in the West Bank.

The Ministry highlighted that 324 government schools, universities, and related buildings, along with 65 affiliated with the United Nations Relief and Works Agency for Palestine Refugees (UNRWA), were bombed and vandalized in the Gaza Strip. Of these, 128 were completely destroyed and 57 partially destroyed. In the West Bank, 109 schools and 7 universities were stormed and vandalized.

The Ministry of Education confirmed that 788,000 students in the Gaza Strip remain unable to attend their schools and universities since the aggression began, with many students experiencing psychological trauma and facing challenging health conditions.

It further pointed out the impact of repeated occupation raids on the Jenin and Tulkarm governorates, which have instilled fear among students in their schools.
