Israeli Forces Arrest Six Olive Pickers in Husan During Harassment Incident

Bethlehem: Israeli occupation forces attacked and arrested six olive pickers in the village of Husan, west of Bethlehem, on Saturday, amid increased tensions during the olive harvest season. According to Maan News Agency, the incident occurred in the "Al-Waziri" lands, located south of the village near the "Beitar Illit" settlement. Rami Hamamra, the director of the Husan village council, stated that the forces fired tear gas and sound bombs at the olive pickers before detaining Ahmed Khalil Zaoul, his sons Muhammad and Ammar, and his brother Muhammad Khalil Zaoul along with his sons Marwan and Mustafa. The situation follows an incident from the previous week when settlers reportedly cut down 100 olive trees in the same area, which belong to the Zaoul brothers, Ahmed and Mohammed. The ongoing olive harvest season has often been marred by tensions and confrontations in the region, particularly near settlements.
