Israeli Forensic Institute Reveals Details of Sinwar’s Death

TEL AVIV: The Israeli Forensic Institute has released new details regarding the death of Hamas leader Yahya Sinwar, confirming that he succumbed to fatal head injuries. The autopsy, led by Han Kugel, revealed that Sinwar had been dying for several hours before a bullet penetrated his head, causing severe brain damage. According to Maan News Agency, Han Kugel, director of the Israeli Forensic Institute, stated that Sinwar's body arrived at the institute at 9:30 p.m. on Thursday. Immediate DNA sampling and a CT scan were conducted, with the team working on the body until midnight. Prior to the arrival of the body, there was already suspicion surrounding Sinwar's death. To confirm his identity, a finger was sent to the institute for DNA extraction and comparison with existing forensic records, as Sinwar had previously been imprisoned in Israel. The Ynet website reported that Sinwar's body was subsequently transferred to a secret location in Israel following the autopsy. The future of the body remains uncertain , with speculation about its potential use in negotiations, particularly concerning the return of 101 Israeli hostages currently held in the Gaza Strip.
