Beirut: Finance Minister, Yassine Jaber, on Monday met with a delegation from the Association of Banks in Lebanon, led by Salim Sfeir, to discuss the Financial Gap Law being prepared by the ministerial committee and the Central Bank, as well as the issue of depositors' funds.
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, Jaber stated that the meeting aimed to coordinate efforts among the government, the Central Bank, and the banks, in consultation with the International Monetary Fund. He emphasized that Lebanon needs a unified national plan to restore confidence and regain access to global markets.
Jaber mentioned progress in aligning positions with the banks and announced upcoming meetings to continue coordination. He affirmed their commitment to revitalizing the banking sector and ensuring that depositors recover their rights. The goal is to begin resolving the deposit crisis while reintegrating Lebanon into global financial systems.
