Jordan and Ireland Explore Enhanced Collaboration in Youth and Sports Programs

AMMAN: Minister of Youth, Yazan Shdaifat, and Irish Ambassador Marianne Bolger convened on Monday to deliberate on enhancing youth and sports cooperation between Jordan and Ireland, focusing on strengthening bilateral relations and supporting community development through various initiatives. According to Jordan News Agency, the meeting underscored the solid relationship between the two nations, particularly in the youth sector. Minister Shdaifat praised the historical ties and expressed gratitude for Ireland's support, particularly in sports development. He also emphasized Jordan's support for the Palestinian people and highlighted the efforts of King Abdullah II in addressing regional issues, including the situation in Gaza. During the discussions, Shdaifat presented the Ministry's programs that aim to empower the youth by developing their skills and encouraging their participation in decision-making processes. He expressed hope for increased cooperation under the National Youth Strategy, which aligns wit h royal directives to foster the development of the nation's youth. Ambassador Bolger acknowledged the significance of the ongoing collaboration, referencing the memorandum of understanding signed the previous year which has already facilitated numerous joint initiatives. She highlighted Ireland's recent contribution of sports equipment to the Al Hussein Youth City's outdoor stadium, illustrating her country's commitment to supporting Jordan's youth sector. Furthermore, Bolger reassured the embassy's dedication to continue supporting the Ministry's endeavors in developing projects that not only benefit the youth but also contribute to broader community development.
