Beirut: Jordan condemned today the Israeli attack that targeted a Lebanese army patrol on the Khardali-Nabatieh road, which resulted in the martyrdom of two army officers and a soldier. Jordan considered the attack a "blatant violation of the sovereignty, security, and stability of brotherly Lebanon, and a flagrant breach of international law."
According to National News Agency - Lebanon, the Jordanian Ministry of Foreign Affairs and Expatriates stressed "the necessity of an immediate cessation of Israeli attacks on Lebanon, the consolidation of the ceasefire agreement, and full commitment to implementing UN Security Council Resolution 1701."
The Ministry's official spokesperson, Ambassador Fouad Majali, emphasized Jordan's unwavering support for Lebanon, its security, stability, sovereignty, and the safety of its citizens. He also reiterated Jordan's support for the Lebanese government's efforts to have sovereignty over all Lebanese territory, reactivate its national institutions, and ensure that weapons are solely in the hands of the state.
Meanwhile, Majali expressed his deepest condolences to the government and people of brotherly Lebanon, and to the families of the fallen victims.
