Amman: A convoy of 50 trucks carrying essential supplies crossed into northern Gaza today, aimed at mitigating the humanitarian crisis in the Palestinian coastal region. The shipment included food parcels, hygiene kits, and baby food, all critical to supporting the basic needs of Gaza's residents. According to Jordan News Agency, the aid initiative was organized by the Jordanian Armed Forces - Arab Army alongside the Jordanian Hashemite Charity Organization (JHCO), in collaboration with international groups like the World Food Programme (WFP) and UNICEF. Hussein Shibli, Secretary General of the JHCO, stated that despite the logistical challenges, the organization has maintained its commitment to preparing and sending relief convoys to Gaza. Shibli further emphasized the efforts made to ensure that the aid is delivered safely and efficiently, with distribution on the ground being managed by partnering organizations within Gaza. He also revealed that the total number of trucks that Jordan has sent to Gaza has now reached 3,652, underscoring a sustained effort to support the embattled region. For those looking to contribute, the JHCO is accepting donations through various channels including an Etihad Bank account, e-wallets like "CliQ", the "eFAWATEERcom" system, and directly via their website.
