Jordan Evacuates Citizens from Lebanon Amid Conflict

AMMAN: Twelve Jordanians were successfully evacuated from Lebanon on Wednesday using a Royal Jordanian Air Force aircraft, which had earlier delivered humanitarian aid to the conflict-ridden country. According to Jordan News Agency, the evacuation operation took place at Rafik Hariri International Airport in Beirut. The aircraft was part of a broader Jordanian initiative, delivering essential supplies including food, relief materials, medicines, and medical supplies. This flight marked the tenth such aid mission by Jordan to Lebanon amidst the ongoing hostilities. Ministry spokesperson Sufian Qudah detailed that this was the fourth evacuation coordinated under a comprehensive plan involving the Jordanian Armed Forces, security services, Ministry of Interior, and the National Centre for Security and Crisis Management. The plan aims to safely repatriate Jordanian nationals from Lebanon during the current Israeli conflict in the region. Qudah further noted that a total of 102 Jordanian citizens have been evac uated directly by air force flights, all of whom had registered for evacuation through an electronic platform managed by the Jordanian Embassy in Beirut. Since the conflict began in August, over 3,305 Jordanian citizens have returned from Lebanon to Jordan. Qudah highlighted the efforts of the Jordanian Embassy in Beirut, which coordinates closely with the Civil Aviation Regulatory Commission (CARC) and Middle East Airlines to facilitate these returns. Special flight seats are being allocated for citizens wishing to return to Jordan. Additionally, Qudah reassured that the Jordanian community in Lebanon remains unharmed, with continuous communication maintained to ensure their safety amid the ongoing Israeli aggression.
