AMMAN: Jordan has emerged as a staunch advocate for the Palestinian cause, with Senate President Faisal Fayez emphasizing the country’s unwavering support for Palestine. Fayez highlighted Jordan’s historical and ongoing commitment to the Palestinian people’s struggle for freedom and independence in a statement released on Sunday.
According to Jordan News Agency, Fayez underscored that Jordan and its Hashemite leadership have consistently played a pivotal role in supporting Palestinian rights. He noted that Jordan has always been at the forefront of efforts to heal and assist Palestinians, defending their legitimate rights. Fayez praised the current stance of King Abdullah II and the Jordanian people, describing it as the clearest and most robust position in defense of Palestinian sovereignty and in opposition to Israeli actions in Gaza and the West Bank.
Fayez further elaborated on the historical ties between Jordan and Palestine, referencing the sacrifices made by Jordanians in the defense of Palestine. He
recalled the bloodshed in places like Jerusalem, Latrun, and Bab Al-Wad as testaments to the commitment of Jordan’s Hashemite leadership and armed forces. Fayez expressed pride in Jordan’s long-standing support, emphasizing that from the early days of the Palestinian revolution in 1936 to the 1948 war, Jordanians have stood alongside their Palestinian brothers.
The statement reaffirmed Jordan’s commitment to the Palestinian cause, noting that the country’s diverse social fabric has always been unified in defense of Palestinian rights.
