Beirut: Jordan's Ministry of Foreign Affairs summoned Iran's Charg© d'Affaires in Amman on Sunday, delivering a strong protest note against the continued "unjustified Iranian attacks" on Jordanian territory, as well as provocative statements by Iranian officials, according to "Petra" news agency.
According to National news agency - Lebanon, Jordanian Foreign Ministry spokesperson, Ambassador Fouad Al-Majali, stated that Iran's Charg© d'Affaires was asked to convey a clear message to Tehran to immediately halt the attacks against Jordan. He emphasized that Jordan's security and the safety of its citizens are a red line that cannot be crossed and called for an end to what he described as "unacceptable provocative statements."
Jordan also condemned the attacks as violations of its sovereignty and international law. It expressed full solidarity with Gulf Cooperation Council states in protecting their security and sovereignty. The Foreign Ministry reaffirmed that Jordan would continue taking all necessary measures to safeguard its security and citizens' safety.
